Balancing Exam Safety and Teaching Order: Probability Analysis of Interference from Intelligent Interference Devices on Campus Broadcasting

  • 2026/08/14

During the annual College English Test Band 4 and Band 6, as well as some qualification certificate level exams, there will be listening test content. Before the exam starts, the examination room will use intelligent jammers to block the interference of mobile phone signals in the examination room, in order to prevent candidates from using communication tools for the exam

cheat. Many schools have reported that after turning on wireless jammers, there is a certain degree of interference with campus broadcasting. Some areas have severe interference with broadcasting signals. After turning off the wireless jammers, the interference will disappear. Let's talk about the reasons for this situation and how to solve it.

Firstly, campus radio, as a form of FM radio, no longer uses loudspeakers. Many schools now basically use campus radio to broadcast English programs or other programs, which is similar to the radio we listen to normally. The normal frequency range used for this broadcast is between 76-88MHz. The signal emitted by the intelligent interference device is a white noise interference signal with the same frequency as that used by mobile phones. The lowest frequency band is the 700M broadcasting 5G frequency band, which is not the same as the signal frequency of campus broadcasting, and can even be said to be very different. The reason for the interference with the campus broadcasting signal is likely that after the intelligent interference device is turned on, it increases the bottom noise in some areas of the examination room, which submerges the campus broadcasting signal and causes the broadcasting signal to be interfered with. So, how to solve this problem?

resolvent:

1. Adjust the transmission frequency of campus radio and conduct interference testing to find the campus radio frequency band with the least interference.

2. If the campus radio frequency band with the least interference cannot be found, the smart jammer should not be turned on during the listening exam period, and should be turned on after the listening exam is over.
