Does the signal jammer no longer interfere with the sides and rear after using the directional antenna?
Due to differences in application environments or usage scenarios, the antennas configured for signal jammers usually have two options: omnidirectional antennas and directional antennas. It is easy for customers to understand the coverage of omnidirectional antennas and the direction of signal transmission, but they do not know much about the direction of signal transmission and coverage of directional antennas. Some customers will directly ask us: Will the signal jammer no longer interfere with the sides and rear after using the directional antenna?
The so-called directional antenna is literally directional. When explaining it to some customers who are not familiar with the field of wireless communication, a visual analogy is sometimes used, that is, the directional antenna is emitted. The wireless signal is emitted in one direction like the light from a flashlight.
However, the reason why customers would ask such a question, wondering whether the signal jammer will no longer interfere with the sides and rear after using the directional antenna, is affected by the above analogy, because the light emitted from the flashlight, It only illuminates the front, sides and back. Due to the blocking of the flashlight reflector, there is absolutely no light transmitted to this part of the area.
However, when the signal jammer uses a directional antenna, the transmission path and coverage of the emitted interference signal are really not the same as the way a flashlight transmits light. If the signal transmission of the directional antenna is detected and 3D modeled through the microwave anechoic chamber, we can intuitively see that there are still interfering signals continuously emitted on both sides and behind the directional antenna. It's just that the signal strength and transmission distance in this area will be significantly lower than the front direction.
The wireless signal emitted from the front of the directional antenna is called the main lobe. It has a lobe angle, and the previous analogy with the light of a flashlight is mainly to use the coverage area of this main lobe as a similar object. , it ignores several other side lobes.
In addition, we need to further understand that there are many classifications of directional antennas, and the working principles, antenna materials and manufacturing methods are also very different, which will also cause the main lobe of the directional antenna, the lobe angle of the side lobe, and the transmission distance. There are great differences, and customers must carefully screen and make choices when configuring directional antennas for signal jammers.Copyright © 2025 NanJing BoKang Electromechanical Technology CO.,LTD.All Rights Reserved.
