How to install the antenna of the on-board electronic jammer
In recent years, the demand for on-board electronic jammers has greatly increased, especially in high-power models, which have been particularly favored by police departments. However, in the process of equipment selection and delivery, during the vehicle modification and equipment integration stages, there is always a topic that makes people particularly curious: customers, due to the consideration of concealment during task execution, strongly hope that the onboard antenna can be inconspicuous, unobtrusive, and even preferably not seen or recognized by others. So the question arises: can the antenna of the on-board electronic jammer be directly installed inside the carriage for concealment?
The conventional construction plan is to install the antenna of the onboard electronic jammer on the top of the vehicle, which has obvious advantages: the first advantage is the reasonable utilization of the height of the roof. When the onboard antenna is installed on the roof, the interference signal emitted from the antenna can obtain a larger signal coverage range, and during the transmission process, it can basically cross the blocking effect generated by vehicles on other roads. The second advantage is that the installation space on the roof is relatively spacious, even if the number of antennas configured for the onboard electronic jammer reaches 10 or more, the space on the roof is still sufficient to accommodate it. The third advantage is that the roof can also be equipped with an antenna lodging mechanism, which can store all antennas lying down when the equipment is not in operation.
However, the disadvantage of installing antennas on the roof is also obvious. In working conditions, several antennas standing upright on the roof will be very prominent, making the identification of the on-board electronic jammer very high, making it too easy for the outside world to see at a glance that this is a special vehicle for special operations. So its concealment is almost zero.
Is it feasible to install the car antenna inside the carriage instead of the roof? The answer is very clear: this approach is highly undesirable for three reasons: firstly, the carriage itself is composed of a relatively closed metal frame and sheet metal, which will have a significant attenuation effect on the emission of interference signals from the on-board electronic jammer. This undoubtedly greatly reduces the interference performance of the interference equipment by human intervention. The second reason is that the antenna is installed inside the carriage, and the ground clearance of the antenna is also greatly reduced. The reduction in height can easily cause interference signals to be obstructed by surrounding vehicles or low objects. The third reason is that the high-power radio frequency interference signal emitted by this high-power onboard electronic jammer through the antenna is extremely detrimental to the physical health of the driver and passengers inside the carriage at a close distance from the antenna.
