Is the directional antenna suitable for portable frequency jammers
Recently, a customer inquired whether portable frequency jammers should be equipped with omnidirectional antennas or directional antennas when in use? Which one is more convenient and works better when used?
I will answer these two questions for everyone. As the name suggests, portable frequency jammers are mainly used for wireless signal interference devices used by the police in handling special tasks, such as group incidents, on-site temporary communication control, and other tasks.
According to the variability of the usage site, the jammer is generally portable, with common types including trailer and backpack. If there are no special requirements, it is equipped with an omnidirectional antenna at the factory. The advantages of equipped with an omnidirectional antenna are as follows: 1. It is relatively convenient to carry, and the omnidirectional antenna is slender. When carrying it, just put the antenna into the storage bag. A better one is equipped with a dedicated storage box for the antenna, which takes up less space and does not need to worry about collisions. 2. It can be quickly disassembled and assembled. When arriving at the task site, simply tighten the omnidirectional antenna by corresponding its frequency band to the frequency band interface of the portable frequency jammer. It is also convenient to disassemble, and then unscrew the antenna and place it in the storage bag.
If you choose to equip it with directional antennas, it is not as convenient to carry as omnidirectional antennas. Directional antennas are all board mounted, which takes up more space. Not only do they need to be equipped with directional antennas, but they also need to be equipped with installation brackets for directional antennas, which is also a problem for storage. And during disassembly and assembly, the directional antenna needs to be installed on the antenna bracket first, and then connected to the portable frequency jammer host through a feeder. The preparation time is relatively long, and the operation is not as simple as an omnidirectional antenna. However, the gain of directional antennas is higher than that of omnidirectional antennas, which can maximize the effectiveness of portable frequency jammers. This omnidirectional antenna has no advantage.
