Lawmakers want to ban use of smartphones while driving
Lawmakers want to update distracted driving laws to nearly ban all use of smartphones by drivers.
The current law bans texting while driving or talking with a cellphone up to one’s ear.
But it is still legal to do other things, such as flip through Twitter and Facebook feeds or use GPS on a smartphone.
The Seattle Times reports that this week, lawmakers will file a bill that would ban all cellphone use while driving, except making calls with hands-free devices.(from kirotv.com)
